Austal is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking
Data Architect
to design and manage the organisation’s data architecture. Reporting to the Digital Services Manager, this role plays a critical part in ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and aligned with the business needs under the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA). What’s Involved
Designing scalable data architectures by developing and implementing secure, enterprise-wide models and integration strategies that align with SSA business strategies and technical requirements. Ensuring data integrity and quality by establishing and enforcing data governance frameworks, quality standards, and validation protocols to maintain consistent, accurate, and reliable enterprise data. Optimising database systems by recommending solutions for configuring information systems, managing data migration from legacy systems, and designing conceptual and logical database models. Standardising data models and metadata by developing and maintaining logical and physical data models and implementing metadata management practices to enhance clarity and reusability. Maintaining compliance and security by implementing data security policies and ensuring adherence to data privacy laws and industry regulations through effective controls and audits. You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Data Science or Information Technology, or working towards Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures including data warehousing solutions and real-time data pipelines In-depth knowledge of data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, and data integration Proficient in SQL, ELT processes and big data framework Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders Cloud Certification such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect would be highly desirable Why Austal
