* The department supports an Obstetric Service of 1800 deliveries per annum, as well as a 2-room Cardiac Intervention Suite.
* Two specialist pain physicians lead our Acute Pain Service, conduct clinics for persistent patients, and perform interventional pain procedures.

* Grampians Health is a significant trials site for the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network, involved in TRIGs, LOLIPOP, and EchoNOF trials.
* Medical students from the University of Melbourne (Rural Clinical School) and Deakin Clinical School undertake their anaesthetic training here.
* A long-established culture of audit exists, with M&M meetings and Complex Case reviews held every second week.
Grampians Health was established in 2021, bringing together Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital, Stawell Regional Health, Wimmera Health Care Group, and Ballarat Health Services to deliver safe, sustainable healthcare tailored to changing workforce and community needs, for the long term. It is a well-regarded regional health organization serving the Grampians region (pop: 200,000+) with over 24,000 annual admissions.
A peri-operative medicine service is currently being developed.
Grampians Health includes the Base Hospital (221 acute beds), Queen Elizabeth Centre (70 sub-acute beds), and Psychiatric Services (67 beds). New short-stay units, modern emergency, critical care, ambulatory, aged care, and rehabilitation facilities integrate inpatient, ambulatory, community, and home-based services. It is a major training site for the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools. Senior staff are dedicated to teaching and professional development of Interns, HMOs, and Registrars.
