Youth Ministry Leader
St. Catherine of Siena Parish is seeking a passionate and organized Youth Ministry Leader to help nurture and grow our youth community.
Our parish strives to be a welcoming and dynamic faith-filled community, living and sharing the Gospel. Youth ministry currently gathers on Friday evenings, providing a space for young people to connect, grow in faith, and build friendships.
This part‐time role (5–7 hours per week, year‐round) involves planning and leading weekly youth gatherings, building and supporting a small volunteer team, and creating an engaging and welcoming environment for young people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead and grow a vibrant, peer‐led youth ministry across the parish, helping young people deepen and live out their Catholic faith.
2. Plan and facilitate weekly Friday evening youth sessions that are engaging, faith‐filled, and age‐appropriate.
3. Collaborate with youth leaders to design programs that support the spiritual, social, and personal development of young people in Years 7–12.
4. Develop and deliver high‐quality faith formation content, drawing on trusted Catholic resources and guest speakers.
5. Foster a safe, welcoming, and positive youth culture within the parish community.
6. Mentor and accompany young people in their faith journey, building strong relationships with families and parishioners.
7. Recruit, train, and support volunteer youth leaders.
8. Oversee the administration and day‐to‐day operations of the youth ministry.
9. Support as required to the drafting the parish bulletin, catechesis, evangelisation, fellowship, and service initiatives
WHAT YOU BRING
10. Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
11. Warm, values‐driven personality with a genuine commitment to the Church's mission.
12. Compassionate and respectful approach to people from all walks of life, especially those experiencing mental health challenges or social isolation.
13. Excellent interpersonal skills with healthy, professional boundaries.
14. A proactive, 'can‐do' attitude and willingness to ask for help when needed.
15. Integrity, confidentiality, life experience, and a good sense of humour.
REQUIRED
16. Experience in Youth Ministry or working with adolescents
17. Valid Working with Children Check
18. Current Police Check
19. Valid Driver Licence
