The Library is seeking to fill a ongoing System Administrator – Network and Storage APS6 role in the Technology Operations Section of the Digital Branch.
As the Systems Administrator, Network and Storage you will provide specialist technical expertise to support the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of the NLA’s ICT services. Operating within the Technology Operations Section, you will contribute to both business-as-usual activities and project delivery across NLA network, systems, data, and backup and recovery environments, ensuring the availability, integrity, and resilience of critical information assets.
We are looking for someone that can operate with a high level of autonomy in day-to-day activities, works well in and across teams, applying a strong analytical and problem-solving skills and escalating complex or strategic matters as required.
To succeed in this role you will:
* Have demonstrated experience supporting ICT environments with a focus on networking, security, backup, and storage. Experience administering and troubleshooting network infrastructure and security platforms in a multi-vendor environment. Experience supporting enterprise backup, storage, and data protection solutions, including backup and recovery operations. Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
* Provide specialist technical expertise across NLA network, security, systems, backup, and storage environments. Support and maintain NLA network infrastructure, including segmentation, routing, wireless, and core network services. Administer and support multi-vendor network and security platforms, including Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, and Cisco technologies. Perform proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational assurance to maintain service availability and security. Support and operate the NLA backup, storage and data protection environment, including Isilon, Veritas NetBackup, Dell PowerProtect & PowerStore, offsite replication - tape, backup, restore, and recovery activities to meeting business continuity and DR requirements.
