* $29.14/hr + Super + Salary Packaging Benefits
* Part-time role: 15 hours per week as Responsible Person/Educator
* OSHC located in North Parramatta
About The Role
The Responsible Person/OOSH Educator will play a key role in operating a safe, fun, and effective Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) service for primary school-aged children. The role involves developing, delivering, and facilitating engaging after-school and vacation care programs, ensuring a supportive environment for children.
This includes preparing activities, supervising children, providing meals, and engaging in both structured and spontaneous play. Building positive relationships with children, families, and the community is essential to foster belonging and well-being.
At Uniting North Parramatta OSHC, we provide fun, safe, and engaging before and after school care, as well as holiday programs for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our focus is on creativity, social development, and life skills through child-led activities that support learning, friendships, and confidence in an inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in planning and delivering age-appropriate care programs.
* Prepare engaging activities supporting children’s development.
* Supervise children ensuring safety and well-being.
* Prepare and serve food following health standards.
* Engage actively with children to encourage social interaction and skill development.
* Foster positive relationships with children, families, and the community.
* Facilitate both planned and spontaneous play to promote creativity and teamwork.
* Maintain a clean, organized environment.
* Report concerns related to children’s welfare promptly.
* Follow all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Possess knowledge of education and care provision for children.
Key Selection Criteria
* Experience working with children, preferably in an OOSH or similar setting.
* Understanding of child development and ability to create suitable activities.
* Passion for working with children and creating a safe, positive environment.
* Ability to develop professional relationships with children, families, and staff.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a team.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene procedures.
* Current Working with Children Check and First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Ability to exercise supervisory responsibilities and lead educational program implementation.
Desirable
* Qualification in Early Childhood Education, Education Support, or related field.
* Experience with food preparation and nutrition for children.
