SpaceX is actively developing technologies to make space exploration possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. Our team is looking for an automation and controls engineer to develop and build automated solutions for Starship production.
The successful applicant will join a highly talented team of engineers who have a proven track record in developing complex automated systems. The role will involve designing and activating hardware and software systems for the machines that make up the Starship production line.
We are seeking a motivated individual who can participate in equipment conceptual development, balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for laying out new industrial electrical control panels, creating electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics, and implementing safety systems.
The selected candidate will work closely with our team to deploy automated processes and equipment into production. They will also manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic, and fluid plumbing, as well as select and size electrical and electromechanical components.
