Hays has partnered with a Queensland Government agency to recruit an AO6 Senior Program Officer. This opportunity is being offered as an initial contract until June 2026 and can be based in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast.
Your new role
In your new role, you will support senior management, by overseeing reporting and financials to ensure that they are aligned with organisational schedules, policies, procedures, and governance. You will maintain a schedule of work, work independently, and build productive and collaborative relationships across the organisation.
Your key duties will include:
* Support the team by ensuring timely, accurate, and policy-compliant reporting and financial documentation.
* Maintain and manage a schedule of work across the program portfolio.
* Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including internal teams, external government agencies and clients to ensure alignment with governance and strategic objectives.
* Utilise systems such as JIRA, Microsoft Office, Copilot and Power Bi to support operations and provide high-level reporting.
* Develop and implement reporting frameworks and performance tracking tools against objectives and KPIs
* Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualification in program or project management or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
* Experience in a diverse, fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in program governance, reporting, and financial oversight.
* Proficiency in relevant systems and tools, including Office 365, JIRA and document management systems and protocols.
