We are currently seeking an experienced Support Worker to provide consistent evening, day, and weekend support to a male participant who benefits from calm, structured, and professional support.
About the Role
This role involves regular evening, daytime, and weekend shifts. The participant receives support 7 days per week, and consistency is essential.
Roster includes:
* Evening shifts: approx. 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
* Day shifts: approx. 9:30 am – 2:30 pm
* Weekend shifts: Saturday & Sunday
* Minimum 10 hours per week, with potential for additional hours over time
Support may include:
* In-home support and daily routines
* Community access and outings
* Medication administration
* Capacity building and mentoring
* Emotional regulation support
* Maintaining safe, calm, and predictable environments
Participant Support Requirements (Important)
This participant has expressed preferences around the support style that best meets their needs and wellbeing.
As such, we are seeking a Support Worker who:
* Is comfortable working in a female-identified support role, aligned with participant preference and dignity
* Communicates with clear, fluent, and well-paced spoken English
* Is well-spoken, able to explain and respond clearly, and comfortable re-phrasing information when needed
* Brings a calm, emotionally mature, and grounded presence
* Can work confidently within structured routines
* Maintains strong professional boundaries at all times
These preferences are participant-led and relate to communication, comfort, and quality of care.
Professional Expectations & Support Environment
This role is best suited to an experienced Support Worker who:
* Has experience supporting participants who benefit from consistent routines, clear communication, and strong professional boundaries
* Remains calm, respectful, and regulated in challenging moments
* Is able to reset and continue support after difficult interactions
* Follows support plans and organisational guidance consistently
* Completes clear, objective, and timely shift notes to support continuity of care
Professionalism, emotional maturity, and consistency are essential to this role.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 6–12 months experience in disability, community, aged care, or similar support roles
* Medication administration competency/endorsement (required)
* First Aid & CPR (current or willingness to update)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module
* Working with Vulnerable People Registration (TAS)
* National Police Check (within 12 months)
* Driver's licence & reliable, insured vehicle
* Medical fitness to work (or willingness to obtain)
* Right to work in Australia
Highly regarded:
* Cert II or III in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or Aged Care
Pay & Benefits
* From $34.44/hr (SCHADS Level 2) + penalties
* Evening, weekend & public holiday rates up to $86.00/hr
