The opportunity we have available Organised within the Chief Operating Officer Group within the department, Information Technology (IT) Division's purpose is to connect people and technology, empowering the department to excel. IT Division is responsible for the consolidated provision and support of stable and secure IT Systems, applications, and services to all department users across all States and Territories, including our Indian Ocean Territories and Norfolk Island, as well as supporting seven Ministerial offices, six Groups, and coordination with portfolio entities. The division provides the digital collaboration and communications tools necessary to connect a geographically dispersed workforce and to optimise hybrid working arrangements. We manage industry and public facing digital systems, deliver desktop services to over 2,200 staff, support over 30 office locations across Australia and oversee the department's cyber security capability. The advertised position is our IT Organisational Change Management (OCM) lead, a recently established role that heads up our IT Organisation Change Management capability. The OCM team is key to ensuring the successful adoption of digital modernisation with minimal disruption to our department's business operations. It is critical to uplifting the change management and digital literacy of the division and department. We are looking for motivated, innovative, and driven people to join our team as we progress a number of exciting IT modernisation activities that will transform the way we work and deliver IT services. This is a relatively new role for the division and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to continue to build a capability that will be at the forefront of our modernisation, with plenty of scope to make it your own. The key duties of the position include What will you do? As the IT Organisational Change Management lead for the division, you'll be at the helm of helping the department to leverage new technologies, ensuring staff are prepared and supported through the technology uplift journey, advocating for end users, and ensuring staff get the most out of the available technology. Your key responsibilities will include: Strategic planning and management for the OCM team, including workload and resource management, contributing to building the division's organisational change management capability by establishing processes and continuous improvement. Providing direction, coaching, and mentoring to team members, leaders, and staff in change management. Overseeing, planning, and implementing organisational change management activities for our digital projects and monitoring their success. Registering, tracking, and coordinating changes across IT and cyber security. This includes maintaining a portfolio view of change, providing advice on change risks, and supporting integrated planning and delivery of changes. Coordinating and aligning change activities with the enterprise change management office to avoid change collision/fatigue across the department. Representing IT and security changes at a range of internal forums. Overseeing communication activities across the division ensuring messaging is cohesive and aligned to the division's change strategy. While experience in organisational change management is essential, our ideal candidate will be passionate about contemporary technology and working with end users to support people to get the most out of our technology tools. In this role, you will be supported to build change management skills through learning and development opportunities and working alongside leading industry product and customer experience teams. Build and lead a team in a dynamic environment and achieve quality outcomes that are aligned to stakeholder and organisational needs. Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to build consensus and influence decision making among internal and external stakeholders. Have a growth mindset with a willingness to continue to learn, develop, and foster an environment for team members to do the same. Organisational change management qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
