We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Support Worker to join our team in creating a safe, welcoming, and calm environment for participants.
Job Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing person-centred support to participants, including teaching life skills, identifying potential problems, and reporting any difficulties.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support all daily operations of the Mirrors Supportive Housing program
* Create and maintain professional relationships with participants, community, and stakeholders
* Provide crisis intervention as required
* Teach, model, and encourage life skills, including cleaning, cooking, and organizing spaces
* Monitor participant mental health and substance use, and determine when to provide additional support
Key Qualifications:
* Minimum 1-year experience working with people experiencing homelessness and marginalized groups of individuals in a direct support role
* Level 1 occupational First Aid certification
* Naloxone training
* Food Safe Certificate preferred
* Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
This is a casual position available in multiple shifts, including nights and weekends. We offer a competitive salary range and a supportive work environment.
