About the role
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented LegalAssistant to join our Real Estate team in Sydneyon a 12 month contract. In this full-time role,you'll provide essential support to 2 partners and a team ofskilled lawyers, helping to drive efficiency and excellence in afast-paced environment.
In this role you will have exposure to a diverse range ofmatters. There is plenty of variety in this role with the keyresponsibilities and duties being:
- Administrative Support: Manage diaries andinboxes, coordinate meetings, process expenses, and handle alldocument preparation, printing, and scanning.
- File Management: Open and close files,prepare cost letters, update client data in our CRM, andoversee electronic archiving.
- Court Document Preparation: Assist indrafting briefs and lodge court and tribunal documents withaccuracy and efficiency.
- Billing & Reporting: Take charge ofend to end billing, including time recording and preparingdetailed monthly invoices.
- Client Interaction: Act as the primarypoint of contact, liaising confidently with clients and allteam members.
We work in a hybrid way at Maddocks, with at least 3 days of ourweek in the office, and also have wider flexible workingarrangements, whether that's hours, place of work or the leave youtake. We welcome the opportunity to talk to you about workingflexibly.
About you
You will be proactive, flexible and confident workingautonomously with minimal supervision or instruction. You aresomeone who can maintain ownership of their role in a dynamicenvironment where no two days are the same.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- Litigation Experience – Extensivesecretarial experience in a litigation practice, with a stronggrasp of legal processes, terminology, and courtjurisdictions.
- Proactive Mindset – A self-starterwith advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to adaptin a dynamic practice.
- Technical Skills – Proficiency inMicrosoft Office Suite, with experience in Aderant Expert beinga plus.
- Attention to Detail – A track recordof delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Strong Communication – Excellentinterpersonal skills to confidently engage with clients andcolleagues at all levels.
