About The Role
We're seeking an experienced Mechanical or Chemical Engineer to support the Engineering Services Manager with the successful delivery of Engineering Projects across Coogee's Terminal and Manufacturing businesses.
In this key role, you'll successfully work with Company and external stakeholders to deliver projects from concept to completion whilst meeting safety, quality, cost and schedule targets. For larger projects, you will work in a Project Engineering capacity as part of a larger team. For smaller projects, you will take full responsibility for the project including Project Management.
You will play a hands‐on role where required, supporting engineering design, technical reviews, problem‐solving and site support – while adhering to standards, processes and project delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage smaller capital projects from concept to completion, taking responsibility for developing project plans, adhering to agreed schedules and following project processes.
* Successfully deliver a technically sound and fit for purpose outcome that meets stakeholder expectations.
* Prepare budgets and ensure they are achieved through project execution.
* Liaise with stakeholders, contractors and internal teams to coordinate project activities.
* Provide engineering input by preparing and/or reviewing technical documentation, specifications, drawings and reports.
* Provide technical support and problem‐solving during all phases of the project.
* Ensure projects adhere to all relevant regulations, standards and safety requirements.
Qualifications
* A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 7 years' experience as an Engineer in the chemicals, resources or manufacturing industries.
* Strong communication skills (numeric, written and verbal) and the ability to both work independently as well as work effectively as part of a larger team.
* Project management skills with the ability to deliver complex engineering solutions.
* Technical knowledge and familiarity with Australian standards for the storage and handling of bulk liquids (e.g. fuels and corrosives) and/or manufacturing of chemicals for water treatment and mineral processing.
* Familiarity with relevant Australian and International Engineering standards.
* Excellent problem‐solving and analytical skills.
