About the role

The Speech Pathologist role will be based in Kununurra on a full-time basis. You will play a crucial role in delivering early childhood support services to Aboriginal children up to the age of nine who are experiencing developmental delays and/or disabilities. This position requires a culturally sensitive, family-centred approach to speech pathology services that cater to the unique needs of Aboriginal families in the Kimberley region. The successful candidate will work cohesively with the Kimberley Supports multidisciplinary team and community organisations to provide high-quality interventions, support, and advocacy for families.

About the practice

Our AMS serves as the peak regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in 1986, we aim to provide a unified voice for Aboriginal health and well-being, while delivering essential resources and advocacy in collaboration with its Member Services.

Governed by a Board of Directors comprising Aboriginal health leaders, our AMS represents eight independent Aboriginal organisations and works towards empowering Kimberley Aboriginal people. Our vision is to ensure that all members of the community are strong, healthy, and connected through community-controlled services, focusing on holistic health and well-being outcomes.

Experience and qualifications required

* The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Speech Pathology and hold eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
* A minimum of two years of clinical experience, particularly in assessing and managing communication difficulties in children, is essential.
* Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to family-centred practise and the ability to work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary model.
* Degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
* Minimum of two years clinical experience with a focus on children\'s communication needs.
* Experience in developing and implementing play-based, family-centred intervention plans.
* Understanding of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and best-practise early intervention guidelines.
* Willingness to obtain necessary clearances and travel across the Kimberley region.

What\'s on offer for the successful candidate

Salary & Benefits: This position offers a competitive salary of $127,769 per annum (pro rata) along with an array of benefits including:

* Accommodation Allowance of $13,000 per annum (pro rata).
* District Allowance of $3,569 (Single) or $7,138 (Double) per annum (pro rata).
* Annual Airfare of $1,800 (after 12 months of service) per annum.
* Electricity Allowance of $1,400 per annum (pro rata).
* Relocation reimbursement up to $5,000 (upon providing receipts).
