About the program
AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
Responsibilities
The DevSecOps Engineer is part of the Common Operating Setting team and will be responsible for:
- Deploying, maintaining and supporting the 1LMX tool suite for the AIR6500 program.
- Supporting the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for the AIR6500 development environment, primarily the promotion and deployment of code through the SDLC.
- Providing subject matter expert advice and guidance to the team.
- Contributing to the building of CI/CD and DevOps infrastructure to support automated testing and deployment for AIR6500.
- Contributing to automation of software builds and build checkout testing and informal system integration activities.
- Automation and maintenance of business processes.
- Monitoring and maintaining the health of supporting DevOps infrastructure like container orchestration, build agents, monitoring tools and dashboards.
- Contributing to the administration and maintenance of DevSecOps controlled hosts.
- Contributing to the implementation and definition of best practices for source control, continuous integration, and release management.
- Working with developers to identify, debug, and resolve build or deployment issues.
- Overseeing the procurement of engineering tools for AIR6500.
- Assisting with configuration and troubleshooting of 1LMX MBSE, Software Development and Project Management tools.
- Acting as Scrum Master for the Common Operating Environment team.
- Mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- Providing technical code reviews and analysis.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive experience working within an agile framework.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Software Configuration Management/repository Tools such as GitLab and Nexus.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab, ArgoCD and Rancher.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform and Packer.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with the Atlassian tools suite such as Jira and Confluence.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Containerisation/Orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Significant knowledge and experience with deploying and maintaining Cyber security tooling.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with the use of Linux Operating System.
- Knowledge and experience with IBM CLM/ELM tool suite (DOORS Next, Rhapsody, ETM, etc) – desired.
- Knowledge and experience with API technologies and Web Services like Rest, SOAP, XML/JSON – desired.
- Knowledge and experience with coding languages such as Go, Java, Python and Javascript – desired.
- Knowledge and experience with Virtualisation platforms such as VMWare vSphere – desired.
