Duties
Sample Preparers operate machinery to crush, split and pulverise raw mineral samples. The primary responsibilities of the role include:
* Sorting samples,
* Weighing samples,
* Drying samples,
* Operating mills, splitters and crushers,
* Bagging samples, and
* Following all Intertek policies and procedures, including regarding safety, production, quality and human resources.
The role requires the successful applicant to work shift work Monday to Friday on a rotating schedule: 6am - 2pm or 2pm - 10pm. Applicants should be able and willing to work all shifts. (Weekend work may be available to meet production demands). Sample Preparation is in a dusty and noisy environment, and Sample Preparers are required to work in environmental temperatures.
Skills and experience
The positions would ideally suit applicants with:
* Previous Sample Prep experience preferred
* Communication, literacy and numeracy skills in English,
* The ability to work as part of a team,
* The ability to perform manual handling, stand for long periods and regularly lift 15 – 20kg safely.
