Lumia Care is seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to assist a client living with limited vision and recovering from a recent stroke. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, and confident providing both in-home and community-based support.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience supporting clients with vision impairment, stroke recovery, or mobility limitations
* Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care (highly regarded)
* Strong communication and observational skills
* Patience, reliability, and a gentle approach to care
* Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle (essential)
Your Role Includes:
Domestic Assistance & Cleaning
* General household cleaning and tidying
* Light meal preparation as required
Personal Care & Hygiene
* Support and guidance when getting in and out of the shower
* Client showers independently, standby assistance required to ensure safety and comfort
Transport & Community Access
* Transport to Blind Bowls every second Wednesday
* Support with grocery shopping and medical appointments
* Encourage participation in social and recreational activities
Emotional Support
* Provide reassurance and calm presence if client becomes unsettled
* Promote confidence, independence, and wellbeing
Mandatory Requirements:
* Current First Aid Certificate
* Police Check
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Working with Children Check
