Energy Transition Recruitment Specialist
Company: My client is a renewable energy developer and operator delivering tailored clean energy solutions for large commercial and industrial clients. Their core focus is designing, building, owning, and operating solar and battery energy storage systems, along with integrated energy solutions that support their customers' transition to net zero.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and hands‑on leadership to the asset operations function, managing both office and field‑based teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Build capability within the team through mentoring, coaching, and technical development, promoting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Maintain oversight of the technical integrity and quality of all work completed by internal staff and external contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the Asset Performance & Analytics Manager to maximise production output and financial returns across solar and battery assets.
- Deliver on KPIs related to asset availability, operational budgets, and performance benchmarks.
- Identify and implement cost optimisation initiatives and performance enhancement strategies for operating assets.
- Conduct asset inspections, quality reviews, and compliance audits.
- Coordinate and plan DNSP outages or export limitations as required.
- Lead the delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance programs to maintain asset reliability and minimise downtime.
- Manage and negotiate O&M; service agreements.
- Oversee vegetation control programs on solar farms, ensuring adherence to fire safety and environmental regulations.
- Keep all technical procedures, policies, and operational standards current and effectively applied.
About you
- Hold tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or possess equivalent practical experience gained through industry roles.
- Experienced in contract administration with a proven record of managing commercial and technical agreements.
- Over five years of experience in the renewable energy sector, encompassing planning, design, and asset management for generation, storage, and electrical network assets.
- Strong technical understanding of how generation, transmission, and distribution systems operate within regulatory and economic frameworks.
- Background in managing the construction, maintenance, and lifecycle of small‑scale infrastructure assets.
- Familiar with best practice methodologies for asset management and maintenance.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving issues in electrical and control systems.
- Working knowledge of PLC and SCADA system design, configuration, and maintenance.
