Avanade is growing, and we seek passionate and driven technology professionals to join our Managed Services team delivering continuous value to our client's businesses. We are seeking a cloud security support engineer with a background in Azure Platform support. The role requires professional experience within security engineering and a strong background in certification, accreditation, and the support of robust security frameworks within complex ICT environments.
Responsibilities
* Be knowledgeable in Australian Government information assurance requirements, including the Information Security Manual (ISM), NIST CSF2.0 and Essential 8 ML2.
* Possess proven expertise with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender suite, Azure Security Center, and Sentinel SIEM.
* Work with cloud security & data logging (Azure), incident response, cryptography, network and system security.
* Have experience with Security Copilot.
* Hands‐on experience with incident response, threat hunting, and log management/analysis.
* Manage security infrastructure including firewalls, IPSs, WAFs, endpoint protection, SIEM, log management, Zscaler, and Proofpoint.
* Review security vulnerabilities and use vulnerability management toolsets.
* Understand IT service management (ITIL disciplines: change, configuration, asset, incident, problem management).
* Deploy applications, services, and infrastructure into public cloud services (Microsoft Azure).
* Explain security issues to both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* Stay current with threat intelligence and modern cybersecurity trends such as Zero Trust, Extended Detection and Response (XDR), and AI‐driven security analytics.

* Cloud security support engineer with a track record of supporting the security of complex environments with a strong client focus.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Analytical and problem‐solving skills enabling creative and innovative support of clients.
* Commitment to continually improve clients' environments through evergreen practices and platform evolution.
* Australian Citizen; existing security clearance will be highly regarded.
* Proven ability to work within a structured IT governance framework and deliver results that adhere to relevant Commonwealth standards and policies.
* Stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate outcomes as required.
* Provide technical expertise to projects and business areas.
* Maintain a high level of professionalism, sound judgement and decision‐making skills.
* Work autonomously and be highly motivated.
