HD Service Mechanic - Port Hedland RESIDENTIAL

About The Opportunity
Join our Energy division in our new Port Hedland facility – this is a permanent, Port Hedland based position overseeing maintenance and mechanical modifications to UON equipment tailored to meet customer specifications.
Undertake planned and ad hoc inspections on the condition of UON products as required.
Installation and commissioning of UON products in workshop/Yard and WA mine sites.
Predictive and reactive service, maintenance and repair of UON and client equipment as required.
Complete general maintenance, repairs and component change-outs on a variety of surface mining equipment.
Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and components of the power generation equipment through troubleshooting and provide professional advice.
Mechanically modify equipment sold by UON to meet customer specifications.
Assemble equipment sold or owned by UON, including pumps and power generation equipment.
Reassemble diesel engines and parts after repair.
Repair and rebuild UON assets as required to company specifications.
About You
Basic welding knowledge.
Programming/Protection analysis.
Mechanical testing.
Ability to read complex schematics.
Ability to work in a team or independently.
Ability to work in a remote setting.
Understanding of regulatory requirements.
Problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.
Requirements
Current nationally accredited confined space ticket (within 2 years).
Current WA HR class drivers licence.
Trade qualified heavy diesel mechanic or mobile plant equipment mechanic (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology).
Minimum of 3 years' experience on mine sites, performing service in mobile equipment and driving to field service.
Minimum of 3 years' experience of servicing and diagnostics in heavy vehicle, mining, heavy construction, materials handling or similar heavy industry.
Nationally accredited "Work Safely at Heights".
Minimum of 3 years' experience working with heavy diesel engine diagnosis, rebuild and repair.
Minimum of 3 years' experience diagnosing and rectifying fieldbus circuits in mobile and stationary plant and equipment.
Clear national police clearance.
