About the Position
This Mental Health Clinician position within Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service involves providing high-quality assessment, treatment and case coordination services to children, young people, and their families/caregivers. You will also contribute discipline specific expertise to the multi-disciplinary team discussion and collaborate with Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, and Dietetic disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team model to deliver specialist person centred clinical interventions to children/young people and their families/carers, ensuring innovative and developmentally appropriate clinical practice and therapeutic interventions.
* Participate in the delivery of trauma informed care and its application in working with children/young people with mental health concerns and their families /carers.
* Exercise independent professional judgement.
* Ensure the care delivered adheres to professional, organisational, legal, and ethical boundaries and reflects evidence based, best practice knowledge, embracing a collaborative, client centred, family and culturally sensitive approach.
* Identify and act on opportunities for improvement in clinical practice and participate in initiatives to enhance service delivery and consumer outcomes.
* Work semi-autonomously on tasks related to assessment, formulation & clinical documentation.
You'll receive direct line management and guidance from the CAMHS New England North West Team Leader as well as experienced psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and C&A Psychiatrists who work as part of the MDT. Additionally, you'll benefit from regular clinical supervision and access to continuous training and educational programs, all designed to enhance your professional development and ensure your success in this role.
Requirements:
* Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology/clinical psych in training, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program), Nutrition and Dietetics which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the service.
* Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
