Porter Engineering is growing, and we're looking for skilled trade workers who can jump in and deliver high-quality fabrication and welding work.
We specialise in food production, water infrastructure, public spaces, and custom construction.
This role suits anyone chasing a second job, family-friendly shifts, or flexible hours, but we do need commitment.
If you're reliable, experienced, and can work independently without needing to be micromanaged, we want to hear from you.

What you'll be doing
Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate custom metalworks components, such as tanks, pipe work, structural components and one-off custom pieces.
Operating a variety of fabrication equipment, such as welding machines, grinders, and cutting tools
Performing precision measuring, marking, and cutting of steel materials
Assembling and welding steel components to create finished products
Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
Collaborating with the engineering team to find efficient solutions
Shutdown, Project work and weekend installations
Onsite Breakdown and call-outs
What We're Looking For
Stainless steel experienced
Must be able to pass a practical welding test in Tig Stainless and Mig
Proven skills in fabrication & welding
Strong understanding of TIG & MIG welding
Ability to interpret engineering drawings confidently
Capacity to work independently and deliver quality without supervision
Reliable, safe, and efficient work style
Driver's licence required
Great to have (however, not essential)
Experience working in the food production or water infrastructure sectors
