Our client, a successful privately owned business, is seeking a capable and commercially astute accountant to help lead and support the company through its next phase of growth. This opportunity arises as the current incumbent approaches retirement.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strong technical accounting skills and commercial acumen, with the ability to contribute to strategic decision-making and day-to-day financial operations. This is a hands-on position within a close-knit leadership team, ideal for someone looking to make a tangible impact in a stable and well-respected business.
Primary responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing all aspects of the company's purchasing, sales and financial processes
* End of month financial reporting including general ledger maintenance, journals, amortisations, reconciliations and financial and business reports
* Overseeing Payroll, Superannuation, IAS returns, Payroll Tax
* Managing the accounts/admin team of 5 people
* HR management, compliance and supervision
* Workers Compensation compliance
* Worksafe and occupational health and safety compliance
* Business insurance management
* Debtor insurance management and compliance
* Department of Environment compliance and annual reporting;
* National Measurement Institute compliance;
* Main Roads WA Heavy Haulage compliance;
