This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026

WA College Of Agriculture – Denmark is seeking a Head Chef – to join our dedicated and motivated team.

WA College of Agriculture - Denmark is fortunate to enrol 150 fantastic students. Our students are engaged and passionate about their pathways in Agriculture. Likewise, our staff are committed to providing an environment that allows our students to achieve their best. Embodying our vision of Plant, Grow and Harvest, our pastoral care and academic programme works in unison supporting strong student outcomes.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally be a team player with strong organisational skills to support the management of the College kitchen. The role involves providing leadership within the kitchen team and working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, healthy meals for students, staff, and visitors, including consideration of dietary requirements. Responsibilities include staff rostering, ordering food and equipment within budget, and supporting efficient day-to-day kitchen operations.

With access to on-site farm produce, including an abattoir, the kitchen offers strong opportunities to apply 'paddock to plate' principles and develop menus that make good use of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The environment includes buffet-style service for students and staff across structured meal breaks, with additional residential catering outside school hours. The pace and volume of service can create time pressures, so strong time management and the ability to work well under pressure are highly valued, alongside a collaborative approach that supports a positive and cooperative team culture.

* Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and prioritise tasks to meet conflicting timelines.

* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
* Consent to a screening clearance number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
