Food Technologist Role Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading readymade meal manufacturer as a Food Technologist. As part of the team, you will be responsible for R&D outcomes across two business sites in QLD.
Main Responsibilities:
* Sourcing information from suppliers for raw material specifications.
* Raw material development via factory visits and supplier communications.
* Conduct bench and process trials to develop/improve potential products as required.
* Assist the Retail R&D team in developing commercially sustainable, cost and process efficient recipes.
* Provide technical support for manufacturing operations and R&D department, making recommendations and implementing process improvements.
* Project manage industrialisation and scalability of concept recipes.
* Co-ordinate activities of transitioning our Chef's recipes to a commercial product.
* Implement and maintain new processes with training and partial supervision of staff.
* Manage recipes, systems and processes for yield and cost management.
* Maintain our Food Works database for allergens and nutritional information.
* Support project works and R&D for our National Bakery in Coolangatta.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated success in a similar role, minimum 3 years.
* Product development and commercialisation experience in bulk food manufacturing.
* Tertiary qualifications in Food Technology or similar.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in producing and tabling reports.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Some experience with ERP systems – preferably QAD.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work within strict time constraints.
* Dynamic, highly motivated and innovative.
* Some light travel on occasion (once a quarter).
