Join Viva Energy Australia as a Senior Modern Workplace Engineer, you’ll sit at the heart of how our people work every day designing, building, and continuously improving a secure, scalable, and modern end‑user computing experience. You’ll take ownership of our Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace ecosystem, including Intune, endpoint management, device security, collaboration platforms, and automation.
This is a hands‑on, senior engineering role with real influence. You’ll set technical standards, create reusable engineering patterns, and drive operational excellence across the Modern Workplace domain. Working closely with Security, Infrastructure, Service Delivery, and business stakeholders, you’ll shape solutions that are secure by design, user‑centric, and ready for what’s next.
Responsibilities & Requirements
* Own and enhance endpoint management across the Viva Group, including Intune, SCCM, Windows Autopilot, and patching.
* Engineer and optimise the Modern Workplace collaboration stack (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, M365 Apps), including governance and lifecycle management.
* Troubleshoot complex endpoint issues and implement scalable, preventative engineering solutions to improve performance and reliability.
* Lead application packaging and deployment standards (Win32, MSI, Store apps).
* Drive automation, self‑service, and continuous improvement to reduce operational effort and recurring incidents.
* Partner closely with Security, Infrastructure and Service Delivery teams to maintain a secure, compliant workplace.
* Support workplace experience tools (e.g. Nexthink) to improve end‑user experience.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring, and contribute to workplace transformation and uplift initiatives.
Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years of experience in the End User Computing technology
* Proven experience in Microsoft 365 administration and engineering: Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, M365 Apps
* Strong expertise in Endpoint Management solutions like Intune (MEM), SCCM, Configuration Profile, App Deployment
* Very strong hands‑on experience on Windows endpoint engineering, like Windows 11, VDI (Azure), Autopilot, SOE, Conditional access, MFAA, SSO
* Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and translate root cause into preventative engineering actions.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results.
* ITIL certification or equivalent knowledge is preferred
