THE ROLE:
AMD's Australian Graphics IP team specialise in the design and verification of AMD's Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). As a Silicon Design Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of front‐end ASIC development including specification, modelling, design, and verification; with a focus on RTL design.
THE PERSON:
This position is suitable for a candidate with at least 5 years of industry experience in ASIC or FPGA design. Knowledge of GPU or other compute hardware and Graphics APIs is an advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Collaborate with architects, modelling engineers, design engineers, and verification engineers on specifications
* Write microarchitecture specifications, verification plans, and test plans
* Develop and maintain Verilog hardware designs
* Debug, test, analyze, and improve verification coverage of the design
* Optimize designs for Power, Performance, and Area
* Identify and implement opportunities for improving AMD's design and verification methodology
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Design of complex digital hardware systems such as caches, math pipelines, and other dataflow and control elements
* ASIC or FPGA implementation using HDLs such as Verilog or VHDL
* Synthesis and Static Timing Analysis
* Hardware debug using industry standard debug tools
* Graphics API or graphics pipeline knowledge
* Scripting languages - Python, Perl, shell
* Productivity tools – Jira, Jenkins
* Configuration Management – Perforce, GIT
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
