Our client is a well-established winery with a agile and growing presence in the market. They have experienced significant growth, expanding significantly since inception 20 years ago. As they navigate the ever-evolving wine industry, they are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Sales Manager based in Sydney to lead the sales team and drive further success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a sales strategy, with a focus on major accounts in both FMCG and hospitality.
Expand business with existing major accounts, especially targeting similar high-profile hotel groups.
Manage and lead a sales team in Sydney, ensuring effective communication, motivation, and goal alignment.
Set and communicate sales targets for team members, fostering a results-driven culture.
Oversee and maintain relationships with key accounts, including the major grocery players.
Manage a diverse product portfolio.
Take ownership of the P&L; for the assigned territory, demonstrating a strong understanding of numbers and financial performance.
Identify opportunities for market expansion, both domestically and internationally, leveraging industry connections and market trends.
Collaborate with internal teams, particularly in marketing and production, to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
Conduct regular sales meetings and participate in monthly team meetings, both in-person and virtually.
Mentor and develop the sales team, ensuring their success on the journey of business growth.
Recruit and onboard new team members as necessary.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a sales leadership role within the wine industry is essential.
Proven track record of managing major accounts and driving sales growth.
Strong financial acumen and ability to manage a P&L.;
Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
