We are looking for an experienced and motivated Field Service Fitter to join our team in Cairns supporting customers across the General Construction sector in civil, infrastructure, and building projects throughout Far North Queensland.
Responsibilities
* Deliver reliable onsite service – conduct diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on construction equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Respond effectively to breakdowns – carry out fault finding and corrective actions in the field with a focus on accuracy and minimal downtime.
* Stay ahead with preventative care – perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment lifespan and reliability.
* Provide expert support – offer clear technical advice and assistance to customers to help them operate and maintain their equipment confidently.
* Keep documentation precise – complete all paperwork, service reports, and safety documentation accurately and in line with company standards.
* Prioritise safety every time – maintain a strong safety focus, following all company and site requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
* Strengthen customer relationships – build trust and maintain strong professional relationships through consistent, high‐quality service and communication.
Qualifications
* Hold a recognised trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter or equivalent to perform high‐quality mechanical work.
* Demonstrate hands‐on experience working with construction and earthmoving equipment across a range of applications.
* Apply strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify faults and deliver effective solutions.
* Operate autonomously in a field‐based environment, managing tasks and time efficiently.
* Provide excellent communication and customer service to support strong client relationships.
* Hold a current driver's licence (HR licence desirable).
* Maintain a strong focus on safe work practices and deliver workmanship that meets the highest standards.
