Indicative Base Salary Package
$313,000 to $415,000 (pro rata for part time) – inclusive of Base Salary ($188,151 to $254,198) plus Private Practice Scheme Allowance, On‐call allowance and Superannuation (12.5%). Starting base salary will be negotiated within this classification based on experience and expertise.

About The Role
The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit (GEHU) is well established with 14 consultant medical staff, sub‐specialty fellows and advanced trainees. Canberra Hospital provides secondary and tertiary referral services for gastroenterology and liver disease, and acts as the hub for continuing medical education, quality assurance, teaching and research in these specialties within the ACT and southern NSW regions.
The position holder is expected to operate within the Public Sector Management Act (1994), the ACT Public Service Code of Conduct, and the professional requirements specified by the appointee's Specialist College.
A strong research link is maintained with ANU, the University of Canberra and Australian Catholic University. The preferred candidate may be considered for a conjoint position in ANU at an academic level commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. The academic position will be held for the duration of the Canberra Health Services employment and will be subject to regular performance reviews, with no remuneration attached to the university position. The employee will be responsible to the university on academic matters and to Canberra Health Services for clinical/research matters.

Qualifications and requirements
* Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* Meet credentialing requirements and receive an endorsed scope of clinical practice from the MDAAC
* Undergo a pre‐employment National Police Check
* Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy
