Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Lead Queensland's public health strategy, shaping policy and responses to major health challenges.
Act as the statutory Chief Health Officer, providing expert medical advice and serving as the public face during critical health events.
Drive health equity and system-wide improvements in collaboration with First Nations communities and health services.
Lead disaster coordination, emergency response, and emergency preparedness at a system-wide level.
Maintain the State's capacity to identify and respond to communicable diseases and other health threats.
Qualifications
Suitably qualified medical professional with experience navigating highly sensitive issues within government, focusing on effective policy outcomes.
Demonstrated stakeholder relationships or ability to forge credible relationships across government, private, and non-government sectors.
Ability to communicate complex medical information to the broader public, instilling confidence and understanding.
Highly developed negotiation skills, political astuteness, and intellectual flexibility to navigate complex challenges.
Assertive and confident decision-maker, able to take high-stakes decisions and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.
Resilient and adaptable, excelling under pressure and managing demanding high-stress situations.
Proven track record as a skilled communicator, articulating complex issues clearly under tight deadlines.
