An opportunity has become available with a State Government department for an experienced Procurement Officer, based in either Acacia Ridge or Toowoomba.
This contract is anticipated to run until 29 May 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role will focus on supporting strategic sourcing initiatives and providing procurement and contract administration services to ensure effective and compliant purchasing outcomes.
This includes:
* • Procure goods and services in accordance with Queensland Purchasing Policy and Queensland government procurement frameworks, ensuring value for money, compliance, timeliness and quality outcomes.
* • Support procurement planning activities including market research, supplier engagement, risk analysis and spend analysis to inform procurement strategies.
* • Develop and manage procurement processes including requests for quote, invitations to offer, evaluation processes, contract drafting and ongoing contract management.
* • Provide advice and support to internal stakeholders on procurement and purchasing processes, ensuring compliance with departmental and state policies.
* • Monitor and review purchasing practices, conduct audits and identify opportunities to improve procurement methodologies, efficiency and business processes.
* • Support the Procurement Team Leader and contribute to a safe, ethical and collaborative team environment aligned with organisational objectives.
Qualifications
* Queensland Purchasing Certificate Level 2 – 3 or subsequent equivalent experience.
* Experience with ERP systems such as Technologyone will be highly regarded.
* High level of purchasing/procurement knowledge, particularly in relation to a government environment.
* Sound interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
* Sound knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
The casual hourly rate for this role is $60.05/hour plus superannuation (neg on skills and experience) and we are seeking availability to work 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
