**ABOUT THE COMPANY**
Our client is a leading distributor of high-end lighting products to the commercial construction & design industries. They are looking to appoint an experienced Technical Sales / Lighting Specification professional within their inner suburbs office.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The position is responsible for assisting architects, lighting designers and engineers to deliver innovative and creative lighting solutions to commercial, retail, education, and residential project while also providing technical assistance to the project team and taking ownership of the sales process. Key functions are as follows.
- Build, establish and maintain strong client relationships through face-to-face meetings, presentations, roadshows, and project specification support
- Own the relationship with key accounts to achieve sales target at expected gross margins
- Develop new account opportunities through networking and cold calling end users, architects, lighting designers, engineers, and interior designers
**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Possess a technical aptitude, preferably from the specification of lighting and associated sales experience
- The hunger and drive to identify new project opportunities and close a sale
- The ability to read and understand architectural and electrical documentation
- Knowledge of specification stakeholders and procurement channels
- Great communication and attention to detail, with the ability to problem solve on your feet
While not a prerequisite, any knowledge of NetSuite, Indesign, Photoshop, and MS Office would be well regarded. However, the essential values to their company that are non-negotiable are collaboration, reliability, and knowledge.
