This has resulted in the creation of a highly modular and scalable product suite, which have become integral to a wide range of critical Defence capabilities.

The Position

As the Senior Field Integration Support Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and expert engineering support for the integration, validation, and deployment readiness of CEA systems within operational environments, ensuring compliance with Defence requirements and contributing to the development of the Field Integration Support capability.

You will also support the supervision of the Field Integration Support team as the Deputy Group Supervisor, acting as a delegate for the manager during periods of absence, with a specific focus on ensuring day-to-day coordination of operational tasks within the team. This includes performing routine line management in their absence, such as handling administrative tasks, resource management, tasking, compliance, communication, team meetings, and hiring.

As a dual-purpose role, this position is ideal for a senior-level engineer with strong systems integration experience who is looking to combine technical authority with team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and manage cross-disciplinary integration activities across multiple high-priority projects, ensuring timely effective deployment support and system readiness.

* Coordinate the setup and validation of logical and virtual system configuration items and network infrastructure in accordance with security requirements.

* Deliver Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing Procedures, and Field Readiness Testing, ensuring traceability to requirements.

* Represent CEA’s Field Integration Support function in internal engineering reviews, field deployments, and customer briefings.

* Liaise with Defence stakeholders and internal project teams to ensure seamless integration and handover of CEA systems into customer environments.

* Provide technical leadership during ADF, allied, and coalition force exercises.

* Lead complex on-site fault-finding, system remediation, and technical triage activities as CEA SME.

* Champion adherence to engineering procedures, safety protocols, and secure configuration management during all field support tasks.

* Develop reusable test environments and integration toolsets.

* Deliver training and mentoring for junior engineers, secondees, and fielded personnel.

* Perform routine line management when the Group Supervisor is absent.

Our Ideal Candidate

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Electronics, Software, Mechatronics, or related discipline).

* Minimum 10 years’ engineering experience with at least 5 in systems integration.

* Practical understanding of Ethernet/IP networking topology.

* Sound knowledge of military mission systems and C4I architectures.

* Experience with verification and validation (V&V) planning and execution.

* Familiarity with MBSE principles and structured systems engineering practices.

* Proven ability to lead small technical teams and mentor engineers.

* Ability to coordinate and operate effectively in high-readiness and remote deployment scenarios.

* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

* Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including technical briefings and reporting.

* Ability to work within a team-focused complex technical environment.
