Job Summary
The School Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at school. This includes ensuring that the premises are clean, well-maintained, and free from hazards.
Main Responsibilities
* Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the school premises, including buildings and grounds;
* Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and DIY projects;
* Supervising cleaning staff and promoting health and safety around the school;
* Portering duties, such as moving furniture and equipment;
* Securing the premises and setting security alarm systems;
* Checking CCTV and alarm systems, locks, and other security features regularly;
* Providing safe access to the school in cold weather conditions;
Requirements
* Previous experience in property maintenance, caretaking, or a related field;
* Good knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations;
* Basic DIY skills and ability to carry out small repairs;
* Good interpersonal skills to protect the school's interests;
* Ability to work in an environment with SEMH children;
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check;
* UK Driving License and own transport;
