To maintain robust workforce capability, Silverstone requires a dedicated Recruitment Consultant (Mining, Transport and Civil). This role is responsible for end-to-end recruitment, specialised talent sourcing and the timely placement of staff across metropolitan, FIFO and remote operations. The position is essential to supporting Silverstone's workforce planning needs and ensuring operational teams remain resourced for ongoing project delivery..
Position Responsibilities and Tasks
- Coordinate the advertising of job vacancies across appropriate platforms and networks, manage candidate sourcing activities, and support the Divisional Manager in shortlisting suitable applicants.
- Conduct candidate screening, interviews and assessments to evaluate skills, experience and cultural fit, and provide hiring recommendations to the Divisional Manager.
- Manage and maintain accurate job vacancy records, including job descriptions, wage details, employment conditions and role requirements, ensuring alignment with Silverstone's policies and workforce needs.
- Provide candidates and internal stakeholders with current information on available roles, recruitment timelines, onboarding requirements and expectations within Silverstone.
- Support the Recruitment Department with the induction of newly hired staff, including preparing onboarding documentation and providing information on employment conditions, workplace expectations and organisational procedures.
- Maintain ongoing communication with hiring managers and candidates to ensure smooth recruitment workflows, resolve queries and support successful placement and retention outcomes.
- Assist with workforce planning activities, including identifying talent shortages, monitoring recruitment metrics and recommending improvements to hiring processes.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
- Bachelor qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience in agency or internal recruitment, preferably within mining, transport or civil sectors
- Competency in end-to-end recruitment processes, candidate management and workforce mobilisation
- Strong understanding of Australian workplace legislation, awards and safety requirements
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple recruitment portfolios in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with recruitment platforms, ATS/CRM systems and HRIS tools
Desirable:
- Experience recruiting for FIFO/remote mining or civil project roles
- Understanding of mining, transport and civil labour markets and project workflows
- Experience in behavioural interviewing and technical candidate assessment
- Ability to provide strategic hiring advice and improve recruitment processes
