Your new company
You will be joining a respected government organisation delivering a significant capital works program and ongoing operational projects. The team you will support plays a key role in enabling the development of a major public‑facing facility and ensuring procurement and contract management activities are delivered with strong governance, transparency and consistency across the organisation.
Your new role
This opportunity places you in a senior procurement and contract management position supporting both capital works and operational procurements. In this role, you will:
* Lead end‑to‑end procurement processes in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules, ensuring strong governance and high‑quality documentation.
* Manage construction and technical contracts, including performance monitoring, milestone tracking, budget analysis, reporting and risk identification.
* Support the development of procurement scopes, project requirements and evaluation documentation, working closely with internal technical specialists.
* Provide high‑level advice and act as the primary escalation point for complex procurement and contract matters.
* Build strong and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, consultants and contractors to support project delivery.
* Assist with project scheduling using Microsoft Project or other Gantt chart tools, ensuring visibility of timelines and dependencies.
* Contribute to broader project management activities across capital and operational portfolios.
You will work closely with senior project leaders and play a key role in ensuring procurement and contract activities are aligned with organisational objectives and delivered to a high standard.
What you'll need to succeed
This role is ideal for an experienced procurement or contract management professional with exposure to construction, technical projects or capital works environments.
We're looking for someone who offers:
* Formal qualifications in procurement, contract management, project management, engineering or equivalent industry experience.
* Demonstrated experience delivering procurement and contract management for construction or technical projects.
* Strong understanding of government procurement frameworks, with the ability to prepare, interpret and apply high‑quality documentation.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing, negotiating and resolving issues across complex environments.
* High‑level written and verbal communication skills, with confidence preparing executive‑level briefs and reports.
Strong analytical capability, including monitoring contract expenditure, performance and compliance.
A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and evolving project requirements.
