Bechtel is seeking a cost engineering professional for an EPCM project to replace three bucketwheel reclaimers at a facility in Dampier, northwest Australia. The project includes design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of the new reclaimers, plus off-board scope such as earthworks, marine infrastructure, structural works and electrical upgrades to support installation and operation.
This will be a site-based role with a 2/1 FIFO roster.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities requiring a high degree of technical skill. You will support/prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.
Major Responsibilities:
* Performs generally non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
* Coordinates the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
* Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
* Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency
* Support preparation of specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
* Investigates the requirements for estimating and/or cost control data
* Collects and classifies cost data
* Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Experience in supporting project cost engineering, including cost control and analysis, cost reporting, incurred cost assessment and conducting meetings.
* Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client.
* Low to intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
* Knowledge of engineering and construction management typically acquired through specialized instruction or practical experience.
* Working rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
