Job Title: Bricklayer
A bricklayer is responsible for constructing, repairing, and renovating buildings using bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other materials. The role requires a high level of physical fitness, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Build and repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and similar materials.
* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project layout and required materials.
* Measure, align, and cut bricks or blocks to precise dimensions using both hand and power tools.
* Prepare and apply mortar, ensuring consistent quality and compliance with building standards.
* Verify vertical and horizontal alignment with levels, plumb bobs, and string lines.
* Perform repairs and maintenance on existing brickwork and masonry structures.
* Work safely and efficiently on scaffolding, ladders, and other elevated platforms.
* Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with all site safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying or above qualification, minimum 1 year of relevant work experience, and in-depth knowledge of a wide range of bricklaying techniques and materials.
