Victory Minerals Pty Ltd is a leading gold explorer and producer based in Victoria's gold belt.
We operate a high-grade underground gold mine and surface processing plant in Ballarat that has been consistently producing 30,000 to 40,000 ounces of gold annually since 2005. As our company continues to grow and evolve, we're looking for talented individuals to contribute to our ongoing success.
ROLE:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Team.
This role combines financial and management accounting, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.
You will ensure accurate financial records, support compliance and audits, and provide insights to assist management decision making.

Key Tasks Include:
* Supporting the month-end and year-end accounting processes, including journals, reconciliations, and statutory reporting
* Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial records
* Preparing financial statements and management reports as required
* Ensure compliance with government requirements for the various applicable taxes and levies, such as BAS, PAYG, FBT, Diesel Fuel, Payroll Tax and ABS Returns.
* Maintain Fixed Asset Register of subsidiary companies.
* Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and profit/loss.
* Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and capital project reporting, providing insights on variances and cost drivers
* Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
* Support Senior team members when necessary.
* Support and back-fill Payroll when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory:
* Degree Qualified Account
* Min. three (3) years accounting experience
* Proficient with Office suite of products (especially Excel, Word and Outlook)
* Attention to detail
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent time management and prioritization skills
* Good communication skills – both verbal and written
* Team player, working well with a diverse group of people
* Have a positive, can-do attitude
Desirable:
* Experience with ERP systems (Pronto would be advantageous)
* Previous experience in processing payroll
* Safety awareness and commitment
