About the Business Unit

Fines and Enforcement Services (FES) is a business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety's Courts, Civil and Criminal Law group. FES is responsible for managing the end-to-end infringements system in Victoria and includes the Director, Fines Victoria, and Director, Sheriff's Office Victoria (Sheriff of Victoria).

Sheriff's Office Victoria (SOV) is a branch within FES and provides strategic direction and support on policy, operational and technological matters to regional sheriff's officers and regional management; and coordinates centralised functions on behalf of the Sheriff of Victoria.

Responsibilities

- Leading the Real Estate team and ensure the life cycle of real estate processes complies with legislative requirements that can be upheld in the Federal, Supreme, County and Magistrates' Courts
- Assisting the Assets team when directed by the Manager Sheriff's Operations or the Deputy Sheriff
- Overseeing the coordination and sale of a debtor's equity in real estate property to satisfy outstanding warrants and conduct auctions for the sale of a debtor's interest in real estate on behalf of the Sheriff of Victoria.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will possess :

- Demonstrated operational experience and expertise in Victorian Sheriff's Operations, knowledge of real estate and asset processes (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated competency in executing all SOV warrant types (criminal and civil matters) including an understanding of the Sheriff's Act 2009, Infringements Act 2006, Fines Reforms Act 2014, Transfer of Land Act 1958, Magistrates', County, Supreme and Federal Court's Acts and rules
- Demonstrated understanding and competency in assessing and utilising Microsoft Office and relevant IT system applications including the Victorian Infringement Execution Warrants system.

Qualifications / Requirements

- Hold current Bailiff title, as appointed by the Sheriff of Victoria
- Successful completion of Certificate IV Court Operations (Compliance)
- A current Victorian driver's licence.
