About the Role
This is the senior marketing hire for the business. You'll own Bell & Bone's entire online growth strategy — from creative direction and paid media through to acquisition, conversion, retention, and the overall commercial growth roadmap across our DTC e-commerce channel.
But this isn't a traditional marketing manager role. At Bell & Bone, creativity is not a layer on top of performance — it's the primary driver of growth. You'll be the creative engine behind the brand's marketing. You'll lead bold campaign concepts, develop high-performing ad creative for Meta and TikTok, set the creative standard across everything we put into the world, and ensure every piece of work is rooted in customer insight and commercial impact.
You will concept campaigns from scratch, art direct shoots, brief external production partners and creators, and lead creative reviews to make sure the work is as good as it can be. You're not just optimising what exists — you're building what comes next. You'll also own paid media strategy, lifecycle marketing (email/SMS), Shopify CRO, and the full marketing P&L. This role has real accountability — for revenue, for creative quality, and for the growth trajectory of the brand.
You’ll work directly with our Founder. Content production is supported by external creators, editors, and an in-house Content Creator — but you lead the thinking, the direction, and the standard.
We're not looking for safe, incremental marketing. We're looking for someone who generates distinctive, cut-through ideas and campaigns that meaningfully shift brand visibility, customer demand, and cultural relevance in the pet space.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ve done this before. You’ve got 8-12+ years in online growth, performance, or commercial marketing — ideally within DTC e-commerce or consumer brands. You’ve grown an online business with real revenue accountability. You’ve built and scaled creative-led paid media across Meta and TikTok, and you know the difference between ads that look good and ads that actually work.
You’re a creative thinker who’s commercially sharp. You can concept a campaign in the morning and interrogate a P&L in the afternoon. You understand full-funnel growth — acquisition, conversion, retention, LTV — and you know how to prioritise what moves the needle most. You’re as comfortable in a creative review as you are in a performance dashboard.
You’re confident and opinionated. You arrive with a clear point of view, put forward a strategy, and back yourself to run with it. You don’t need hand-holding. You don’t wait to be told what to do. You see the opportunity and you move.
You’re hands‑on. In a business this size, you’re not just setting the strategy — you're in the detail. Briefing creative, reviewing edits, building the media plan, writing the launch email, tweaking the landing page. You thrive in that mix of strategic and executional, and you’re energised by the pace of a founder‑led environment where things move fast and no two weeks are the same.
You understand brand. Not just performance metrics, but the long game — how creative quality, organic community, and brand equity compound over time to make everything else work harder. You want to build something that matters, not just optimise what’s already there.
You’re a leader. You can manage agencies, freelancers, creators, and production partners to deliver high-quality outcomes. Over time, you’ll hire and build out the marketing function as the business scales.
And above all, you’re driven. Commercially focused, outcome‑obsessed, and motivated to build something meaningful at a brand that’s genuinely changing its category.
