Offer description

Department of Education Victoria – Shepparton VIC

The host school for the Shepparton English Language Centre (SELC) since 2008 is St Georges Road Primary School in the south of Shepparton. The School Principal has overall responsibility for the school and for the SELC, which operates as a sub‑school of the host school.

The SELC is located in the northwest corner of the St Georges Road Primary School site in a discreet building formerly used by the Shepparton Schools Support Centre and two relocatable buildings. The complex of buildings is Campus 2 of St Georges Road Primary School.

The SELC provides intensive English tuition to new‑arrival primary and secondary students in the Shepparton Schools District, as well as an EAL Cluster Program that supports local EAL students in outlying schools. The target enrolment is 65 students per year, with yearly fluctuations between 52 and 172.

New‑arrival primary and secondary students attend the Centre full time for 6–12 months, depending on visa status and individual learning needs.
