The role of an Insurance Risk Management Specialist is pivotal to the success of a company's insurance operations.

Our nationwide underwriting team works in collaboration with our in-house claims team to prioritise clients' wellbeing and financial security.

Located in Australia, we deliver exceptional services tailored to our brokers and clients.

At the core, this role assesses the potential risk of providing insurance cover and the terms and pricing at which the company is willing to accept the risk.

In this role you will analyse and synthesise information, assess risk within the defined underwriting appetite, whilst proactively managing your workload in collaboration with other teams, to deliver outstanding underwriting service to our brokers and clients.

The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, a commitment to excellence in client service, be a team player and have an ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Actively underwrite renewals, new business, and endorsements in line with your underwriting authority.
* Negotiate with brokers to successfully win new business and retain renewals.
* Service, build and maintain relationships with brokers, as well as other internal teams.
* Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions, correspondence, and justification.
* Attend networking events and Industry functions (as and when required).
* Share knowledge, experience, and expertise to build capability across the team and support continuous learning.
* Understanding key control issues/risks and escalate through the appropriate channel.

Requirements:

* Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
* Strong time management, analytical and problem solving skills.
* Hold more than 2 years of experience in the insurance industry (Accident and Health market experience is highly desirable)
* Understanding of FSRA, Privacy Act and General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP)
