As the Principal Licensing Officer, you will support the delivery of responsive, risk-based licensing services that balance community safety with industry development.

Your key responsibilities
* Assess a range of licensing applications and provide procedural guidance and mentorship to team members, on the complex applications.
* Prepare clear and accurate advice to support licensing decisions, including written reports, briefings, and correspondence on routine and complex matters. In particular, assisting with the preparation of materials for review proceedings in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
* Apply administrative and legislative frameworks to support the making of consistent and accountable licensing decisions and use knowledge of statutory interpretation and administrative law to make accurate and defensible recommendations to senior officers on intermediate to complex matters.
* Contribute to service improvement initiatives and other regulatory projects under the direction of senior staff, in line with project management methodologies.
* Support the day-to-day coordination of team workflows and provide guidance and informal mentoring to AO2-AO5 staff to achieve operational objectives.
* Respond to complex enquiries and provide information to applicants and other stakeholders, escalating sensitive or complex issues as appropriate.
