WA Football is the peak Australian Rules Football body in Western Australia and plays a key leadership, governance and funding role to football throughout the state, whilst also driving the overall development and growth of the sport. WA Football is a not-for-profit organisation that plays an important role in the ongoing development of football across all communities.
Key Focus of this position (Why this job exists):
To set a consistent standard for and ensuring consistency of delivery across all areas of coaching with an emphasis on building capacity and improving standards within clubs and community coaching networks.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of coach education across clubs and community partners, with a key emphasis on player centred coaching. This includes the coordination and facilitation of Elevate courses and Coach Masterclass workshops across WA.
* Build coach capability through high-quality education sessions, mentoring and ongoing support, with a focus on practical application and long-term development.
* Promote and embed the use of the AFL national coaching platform and associated education resources across the region.
* Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with club and community stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for all coaching-related matters within the region.
* Monitor coaching participation, accreditation and engagement data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities, using insights to inform decision-making and improve the overall coach experience.
* Work closely with key AFL, WAFL and State Program staff on the identification and progression of coaches into high-performance pathways and coach academies.
* Promote and uphold high standards of coach behaviour, professionalism and accreditation, including the proactive management of behavioural issues, game day conduct and any coach-related disciplinary matters.
