Senior Accountant and Intermediate Accountant
LGiQ is a niche accounting firm specialising in providing financial management advice and contracted accounting services to local government organisations in Australia that find it difficult to attract qualified financial professionals. Unlike other accounting firms, the nature of our work means we become integrated within our clients' organisations as a business partner building strong relations and understanding their business.
About the roles
We are seeking Senior and Intermediate Accountants to join our team. As every organisations needs are different, so are the tasks and responsibilities of these roles.
Senior Accountant
Full Time or Part Time - Remote based
Annual Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000 + Super + Paid Additional Hours
Duties include:
Application of accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information
Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and financial statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures
Development and preparation of annual budgets and business plans, long term financial plans, and asset management plans
Work closely with clients to identify their financial management needs partnering with them to achieve their strategic objectives and fulfil their statutory obligations.
Manage client deliverables ensuring that they are accurate and consistent with relevant legislative requirements.
Provision of mentorship and guidance to local government accounting professionals in all aspects of local government financial management
Leadership and mentoring of intermediate and junior accountants
To be eligible for this position, applicants must have must have completed a commerce or equivalent accounting degree, have at least six years or more experience in an accounting role and be CPA or CA qualified or working towards.
Intermediate Accountant
Full Time or Part Time - Remote based
Annual Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 + Super + Paid Additional Hours
Duties include:
Undertake end of month processes, providing assistance and advice to council staff responsible for subsidiary ledgers
Undertake the review and improvement of internal financial controls
Prepare and process transactions relating to debtors, creditors, payroll, bank and general ledger
Assist with monitoring and reporting on performance against budget
Assist with the development and preparation of annual budgets and business plans, long term financial plans, asset management plans and annual financial statements
Manage treasury functions, including reporting on cash flows
Assess and monitor projects
Report to external funding bodies
To be eligible for this position, applicants must have completed a commerce or equivalent accounting degree, have at least three years experience in an accounting role and be CPA or CA qualified or working towards.
About you
Building relationships and focusing on our client's needs will be strengths. You will enjoy imparting your accounting knowledge to others, including those who may not understand things of a financial nature.
Sometimes working on your own, you are motivated to work hard and to your best ability, but ask when you are unsure and question when you see things that may need improvement.
You will be able to use most Microsoft Office products, i.e. Outlook, Word, but you will be highly proficient in Excel.
