Job Description
The role of an Identity Governance Specialist plays a vital part in ensuring the security and compliance of organizational systems, applications, and data.
This specialist will support the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry in delivering secure, scalable, and compliant identity governance using One Identity Manager by Quest.
* Resolve Level 1–3 IAM support tickets via the department's ITSM tool
* Investigate and resolve identity-related incidents and user access issues
* Monitor IAM system health, usage patterns, and compliance
* Conduct audits, risk reviews, and access assessments
* Support transitioning new identity functions into production
* Maintain intranet content, knowledge base articles, and IT forms
* Assist in MFA rollout and compliance monitoring
* Provide after-hours and escalation support as needed (time and materials)
* Design and implement workflows, automations, and access controls
* Create IAM reports, templates, and dashboards
* Develop and maintain roles, entitlements, and separation-of-duty policies
* Conduct testing, documentation, and deployment of enhancements
* Manage configuration packaging, migrations, and release processes
Key requirements include hands-on experience with One Identity Manager or similar IAM platforms, deep understanding of IAM concepts, familiarity with SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and integration experience with Active Directory and Azure AD.
Skills required include technical development experience in .NET (C#) and Angular, skilled in RESTful APIs and SOAP services, strong SQL Server experience including queries, tuning, and schema design, and automation and scripting using PowerShell and Python.
Other essential factors include the ability to work in a hybrid model with on-site availability in Canberra, holding or being eligible for NV1 security clearance, and being based in Canberra or willing to work hybrid with in-person collaboration.
