We are actively recruiting a qualified butcher or skilled meat worker to join our unique organisation. The successful applicant must have advanced knife skills, excellent hand-eye coordination, and meticulous attention to detail. This long-term role demands reliability, motivation, and a collaborative approach to working within a small, structured team.
Key responsibilities
• Conducting boning, slicing and skinning tasks in the meat room
• Packing, weighing and wrapping of uncooked meat
• Movement of stock between chillers and freezers, incoming and outgoing orders, and maintenance and cleanliness of the processing facility
• Basic administrative tasks including conducting stocktake activities and entering stock data into computer systems
You must have
• Professional level butchery and/or significant experience in meat processing
• Demonstrated knife skills and exceptional hand-eye coordination
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to work constructively in a small, structured team environment
• Attention to detail
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Confidence using a range of IT programs
This role demands substantial prior experience with complex knife work, and entry-level applicants will not be considered. This full-time position (Monday-Friday) is based in Cairns, with priority given to local applicants or those actively relocating to the area.
