**About your new role**
The newly created Controls Officer position will assist in the delivery and management of the controls library and register. You will support the maintenance of the register, testing of controls in a risk-based approach and conducting regular risk and control self-assessments and associated remediation actions.
Reporting to the Head of Controls you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the business leaders by reviewing and revising controls
- Implement processes to improve controls for adequate risk and compliance management.
- Co-ordinate the effort to ensure the control environment is aligned to process and in line with compliance, regulations and internal policies.
- Support business leaders to identify, assess, and manage risks in line with risk management framework, policies, ICMs and SOPs and the control standard
- Report on the outcomes of control testing
- In conjunction with the business leaders, conduct regular risk and control self-assessments and document/report remedial actions as appropriate
- Optimise key control performance and decision making by providing clear control success measures with targets and meaningful insights.
- Provide reporting and analysis on residual risk exposure, key trends and issues and incidents

**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Undergraduate degree in a legal, commercial, or business field highly desirable.
- Previous experience in advising on control suitability for processes, including control design, implementation, and ongoing management.
- Experience as a risk operations control officer, risk or compliance officer within a large organisation, complex, highly regulated organisation.
- Previous understanding and experience in implementing business drivers for problem solving.
- Ability to interpret data and information.
- Ability to provide audit reports and analysis on the business.
- Ability to communicate and implement all statutory processes.
