Administrative Support Role
Mater Pathology invites applications for the position of Administration Officer to join our team on a casual basis. This role provides vital administrative support across various departments and service centres.
About the Position
Shifts are scheduled between 6:00am and 8:00pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required. We deliver comprehensive services to both hospitals and community medical centers through referral partnerships.
Responsibilities
* Transcribe anatomical pathology reports from an intranet dictation system
* Data entry of anatomic pathology and cytology specimen details into the laboratory information system - ULTRA
* Update and maintain records
* Type correspondence and scientific papers
* Prepare slides for meetings
* Attend incoming telephone enquiries
About You
* To be eligible for this position, you will possess the following:
* Previous experience transcribing anatomic pathology reports for 2+ years
* Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, in particular of anatomic pathology
* Typing speed of at least 60-80wpm
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to prioritise workloads where required and work without supervision
Desirable Qualifications
* Data entry and call center experience highly recommended
* Familiarity with Ultra laboratory information system
* Familiarity with the pathology laboratory environment, particularly in regard to safety and quality matters
